Good News Updates "Baby Crocodiles Release"
Welcome to the world, baby crocodiles! Scientists in Laos have successfully hatched a clutch of 20 rare Siamese crocodiles, a species critically endangered by hunting and habitat loss.<br> The baby crocs will be released after they turn two, giving them a greater chance of survival in the wild, according to the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), which worked with the government of Laos to incubate and hatch the eggs at the Laos Zoo.

U.S. Embassy Helps Build Laos First Wildlife Sanctuary
Ground has officially been broken on the site of the Lao Wildlife Sanctuary, the first Wildlife Rescue and Education Centre in Lao PDR. Located at the Lao Zoo in Ban Keun and managed by ACRES, the Lao Wildlife Sanctuary will provide refuge to animals rescued from the illegal wildlife trade. The first phase of construction will involve the creation of an Education Center and Auditorium, made possible by a $50,000 grant from the U.S. Embassy in Lao PDR.
